Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy offers a non-invasive, highly effective treatment option for a variety of foot and ankle injuries, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and heel spurs. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy delivers radial shock waves to the affected area. These waves stimulate cells to increase blood flow, break down calcified deposits and stimulate an acute inflammatory response. Patients often experience reduced pain, improved mobility, and faster recovery without the need for surgery or prolonged downtime. Ideal for chronic conditions that resist traditional treatment, shockwave therapy provides a safe and evidence-based path to long-term relief and restored function.

As the therapy has gotten more popular, Aronson Footcare has had success with using shockwave therapy for generalized areas of inflammation, arthritic pain, neuromas, and neuropathy.

When other modalities have side effects, like limitations on the amount of times it may be used or increasing the risks of ruptures, extracorporeal shockwave therapy avoids all of that.

Shockwave therapy can be done as needed, or through set protocols that range from twice a week to once a week for about 4-5 sessions. After the last session, a month break is taken to allow for a full recovery once your body’s inflammatory response has been elicited to get full healing.
